My Current Skincare Routine

I've never been much of a skincare-type of girl. I had horrible acne at the age of 12/13 and had a dermatologist prescribe some things that made it all disappear. That was the extent of it. But, now that I'm 20, I've realized that my skin needs all of the loving it can get.

I went the the beauty counter at Sephora the other day to sample a new foundation and by looking in the mirror I was horrified at how dry my skin looked! My skin ranges from normal to oily so I was surprised to see it SO dry-looking. My downfall: using an exfoliating cleanser every single day. Yep, I thought it was gentle enough to do so, but no...I was literally stripping the oils in my face every single night {I did use a moisturizer right after, thank goodness} That's not to say that you should never exfoliate because you definitely should...I try to do so 1-2 times a week!

While at Sephora, I found a really great product in the checkout line- it has the best stuff! It was the First Aid Beauty facial cleanser and while I'd heard of them before, I had never ventured out and tried a new skincare line!

It's so good, y'all! It's hydrating and really makes my skin look 'clean.' I use it morning and night.

In the morning, after washing my face, I'll apply this. It's a new product on the market and I love it!! It's a primer and moisturizer all-in-one so you can skip a step and get ready faster in the mornings! I also use this moisturizer right before the primer for some SPF protection!

Also, with the warmer months on the horizon, I've started self-tanning again! I had heard people raving about this one so I ordered for myself and I love it! It's so natural-looking even in the dark color. I also love that it develops in 2 hours instead of having to sleep in it and ruin my crisp, white sheets like some others I have tried. I haven't used this tan long enough to know how it lasts just yet, but with other tans, I use this to keep the tan alive just a little longer!
